K-State Player With Kansas City Roots Riding To The Elite Eight

Amaad Wainwright was one of five guards on the floor for No. 9 seed K-State in the final seconds of its upset win over No. 5 seed Kentucky in the South Region of the NCAA tournament.  Wainwright‘s free throw also capped the Wildcat scoring on the night and forced the Kentucky Wildcats to shoot a three-pointer before the final buzzer in an attempt to send the game into overtime.  Here’s a story of Wainwright’s Kansas City roots before he ended up as a K-State Wildcat.
