Before his career with the Chicago Cubs, Bobby Dernier was an outstanding athlete at Raytown South High School. This month, Dernier is going into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
But while Dernier enjoys the recognition from his athletic accomplishments, his high school alma mater is having trouble shaking a reputation connected with its boys high school basketball program.
After three lawsuits from former coaches the school district goes under the microscope for discrimination.
According to Raytown Supt. Allan Markley similar issues can be found in any school district.
