Baylor forward Ish Wainwright is making the best of his senior year with a Sweet 16 appearance, the first since his freshman season with the Bears in 2014. He helped his team with two important free throws to secure the lead against USC with 16 seconds left. Wainwright played two seasons at Montrose Christian Academy (Md.) after two seasons in the beleaguered Raytown South (Mo.) program where he caught the attention of Kansas coach Bill Self. While at Raytown South, Wainwright played under coach Brad Oestreich, who is suing the Raytown School District for wrongful termination and discrimination. Oestreich said he had nothing but good memories of Wainwright in his two years at Raytown South.
